Version 0.02 is live!



*QUICK UPDATE: v0.02 Character Sheet is now live

Quietly been making changes, updates, and tweaks under the hood in anticipation of the Videogame Hacks TTRPG Jam. You can read the changelog below (long but digestible). The biggest change has been to Reactor Management. The POWER resource is gone completely, in favor of making discrete choices regarding which system to hobble and which to empower. This brings gameplay at the table more in line with the experience of After\\Burner's inspirational origins (the X-Wing series and Elite: Dangerous) and makes things clearer and easier for players. 

Big overhaul of the Character Sheet as well! Should be much more useable, though I still need to make adjustments to get it to play nice with PDF Foundry.

  Various spelling and grammar gaffs

  • Fixed the +Tenacious and +Aerodynamic Bandit tags
  • Included Bandit stat cards in the “Extras” folder
  • Bumped up missile Harm for Bandits in order to make defeating missiles more compelling
  • Revised version of the 3D printable badge to make it more “Sci-Fi.” Because THAT was the thing most in need of revision...
  • Removed the POWER resource to emphasize discrete, simple choices for Reactor Management. This leads to a great number of changes in how some systems function!
  • Fighter types now determine max and starting SA
  • SA now allows you to: activate some Talents, reroll an entire Action roll, and remove some tags
  • Debilitating Tags (+Breach, +Drag, +Rattled) classified. Now must be removed by spending SA
  • Extensive rewrites and clarifications in the SORTIE COMBAT PHASE section. Give this one a close look.
  • Added the +Capacitor tag
  • Changed function of the +LockOn tag (Now makes die ranges Fail 1/ Mixed 2-4/Success 5-6 if you roll with GAUGE)
  • RALLY results changed to reflect the loss of POWER and revision to Condition Tags
  • Tweaks to most Talents.
  • Tweaks to the following Secondary Weapon list: Cruise Missile, Homing Missiles, Removed Seismic Charge Rocket, Added Stand-Off Rockets, “Dumbfire” Rocket Tubes, Clarified mines, Deployed Turret is now Deployed Turret Mine, Coherence Beam, Afterburner Dirty Tuning Melee Weapon, Plasma Discharge Vanes
  • Clarified that SM can call for a separate MANEUVER roll as a consequence that may end in a COLLISION or CRASH
  • Changes to and added some artwork
  • Revised Character Sheet to reflect rules changes, emphasize Reactor Management, and make tracking bandit kills easier
